Rough outline of this family: ??? Rough idea of them as being the Tammany Hall types - outwardly just sort of benevolent, but secretly drawing new immigrants into their malicious circles.

Rough outline of this family: ???????? I had an idea of this family being sort of mystics, secret-society types - an organized crime family descended from the Masons or something, very into rituals, VERY brutal and terrifying, but if anyone has any other inspiration, please do say.

okay now that that's handled:

Right now Hope and I were going with this really basic structure idea: basically if you want to play a family boss, you can, but you can't play another really high-ranking person in the same family (so lieutenants, spouses, right-hand man, whatnot) just for the sake of balancing out power a little.

SO IF THAT WAS A QUESTION considered it answered!

Yes indeed! And we don't want to limit the number of people who might take on responsibility in the game. So even if we already have the head-of-family position filled, you can absolutely go in to play the consigliere, etc. - just make sure you coordinate with the big boss.
